We are two hours away from Manchester,
Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The nearest
train station is Carlisle or Penrith and the nearest airports
are Carlisle, Teeside, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
By road
Leave the M6 at junction 40 and follow the A66 west towards
Workington and Keswick. After approximately 35 –
40 minutes (9 miles after Keswick) look for a sign saying
Lorton Buttermere and take this left. Up a short hill
you will reach a t-junction.
Turn left signposted Wythop Mill. After a few hundred
metres you will see St Cuthbert’s Church on your
left and a private lane opposite. Turn right up this lane
and Brook House is the first house on the left. Just over
the bridge is a parking area for The Lazy Fish.
