Lakes

Within a 10 mile radius you can visit Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwent Water, Crummock Water, Buttermere, Loweswater and Ennerdale.

Mountains

From the property we look across to Skiddaw, the 3rd highest mountain in the Lake District. Other local peaks include CatBells, Grisedale Pike, Haystacks, Melbreak and Grasmoor.

Activities

Aside from the obvious hiking, climbing, mountain biking and varied watersports you can also enjoy a range of different experiences locally including a Via Ferrata, Go Ape or Treetop Trek. Keswick have an annual Jazz Festival and Maryport host a Blues Festival. Other events include regular "Taste Cumbria" markets and various Beer Festivals with several pubs having their own micro brewery.

Towns

Our closest market towns are Keswick and Cockermouth which boast a charming range of independent shops, pubs and cafes. There are swimming pools, climbing walls and museums for families whilst Keswick's Theatre by the Lake offers a cultural programme of plays and events. Visit the house where Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth or take a tour round Jennings brewery or the Lakes Distillery.
